A Short Guide to Online Blackjack

While playing online blackjack or sitting down at a place of gambling it is always scary to see that the dealers up card is a two.

Everybody knows that jacks, queens, kings and aces are not good up cards for the dealer if you do not want to lose, but it is good to understand your odds. If you are in a situation like this you might not know what to do.

Here is a short guide to help with that problem.

A lot of experts say the two is not a good card if you do not want to go over 21. That is not true. Some might not hit on certain hands (twelve-sixteen), but based on the probabilities this is not the way to go.

The probabilities make it clear that you should take another card when you see the dealer has a two, however many people are not savvy enough to make this play.

So what are the odds? The chance for them to make a nineteen is thirteen percent, a twenty is twelve percent, and a twenty-one is twelve percent. This indicates that thirty-seven percent of all games you will lose by not hitting when your cards are twelve through sixteen.

Also, when figuring in the chance of getting a seventeen or eighteen it really shows that hitting is the winning way.

Aside from a few exceptions, it can be a good idea to hit on almost every hand if the dealer has a two. Cards to not hit on could be ace-seven, ace-eight, and ace-nine. Clearly do not hit if you have seventeen or greater.
